purple
I wouldn't think it would be the MDD or PTSD (i have both of those also)....but maybe more the meds you are taking for both or either of those? Have you checked all of the side effects and interactions of your meds? Some psych meds are very nasty.

purple
alcohol use might cause liver damage regardless of whether or not a person has mdd and/or ptsd. i guess then the questions would be, do you have liver disease? do you think it is caused by alcohol use? Berta
Purple made an excellent point- also- cirrosis of the liver can be caused by alcoholism which was caused by self medicating for PTSD. In Allen V Principi , the veteran Allen, had PTSD and also had abused alcohol- but he had secondary disabilities from the alcohol abuse (which were service connected)due to the PTSD that had caused the alcohol abuse. Allen V Principi should be thoroughly studied before preparing a claim like that- it sure would be possible that your SC meds have caused or contibuted to your liver problems- and like all secondary conditions- with a strong doctor's statement of that nexus it should be SCed as secondary. GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University ! When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we." Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
