Okay, so here's a little story and a question.

My husband is SC'ed at 50% for PTSD. He is currently enrolled at a very small tech school to become employable in a SMALL office. Between then and now, he's tried to get work, but isn't qualified for work at a small office. He worked for a short time at a restaurant and walked out. He couldn't deal with the people. My question is, can we apply for TEMPORARY IU without the 70% rating and/or hospital stay (the old VSO said he had to be in a hospital or something) Thanks for any responses!

Sure, darlin, you can apply for most near anything.

And, after 3 or 4 or 5 years..........who knows, you might just get it.

Kinda like goin' deer hunting with a blind man.

Who knows what you might hit.............?

Thanks.... I think.

What I was trying to say......and not doing a very good job of it.....was that it would be "more productive" to concentrate on a "more winnable" claim.....for something else. Like an increase in his PTSD rating? or somethin'

We're working on the increase. It is "on the raters' desk" according the their COVERS screen.

Thank you, and I do mean it!

Thanks Carlie. We're just going to try for the increase to 70% then try to make it on that for now. I'm looking into the History program at AMU. I've been meaning to go back, so I'll go back when my husband gets through with Voc Rehab. I'll get my degree in history and I can teach or be one of those TV historians! Wouldn't that be fun.
