Lawyers representing veterans have to be fully accredited in some way by the VA-this was discussed here last year-and is on the VA OGC web site:

http://www.va.gov/ogc/accreditation.asp

30% is not the going fee -20% is.

A lawyer who handled some business for me last year started telling me of his VA claim at the same VARO I deal with-as we talked on I mentioned a little about my claim and he asked the monetary value of it-I had just prepared a total for the OGC regarding a complaint I have there.

Suddenly he wanted to represent me-and sent me emails to come in with my paperwork-but

when I emailed him the actual accreditation criteria involing the June 20, 2007 regs-

I didnt hear from him again.

The claim he was interested in did not fall under the June 20, 2007 regs-only my CUE claims do and since he had already told me of his problems with his own disability claim-and didnt understand what CUE meant-I realised he didnt have a clue.

Veterans have to be careful who they hire.

Not long ago 2 lawyers were found guilty of stealing veteran's fiduciary comp money.

Ask a lawyer you are considering to hire for some of their past veterans cases.

or search their names in claims at the BVA or CAVC web site.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
