The 12 Worst Regional Offices

I would like to compose a list of the 12 Worst places to live for VA benefits. If your RO has "done you wrong" post it, and why..I think this list should be turned over to Bob Filner, Mr. Hall, Mr. Shineski, and, yes, Mr. Obama.

I propose these terrible RO's head the list:

"The Veterans list of the 12 Worst Regional Offices:

1. New York

2. Detroit

3. Cleveland

4. St. Pete

I want these to be like "power ratings" for the NFL..except in reverse, kind of like the least likely teams to win the next superbowl of being Veteran friendly.

My reasons for the "Terrible 3" of NY, Detroit, Cleveland being the worst are largely due to the AG's report of Veterans shredded claims, as well as my own experience in Drew Careys neighborhood. Please add your RO to this "12 worst list", if you feel your RO is deserving, as we can use it to pressure them to "get off this nasty list" by good Veterans service. Also a factor is The AG reported disparity among states, where some RO's compensate Veterans much higher than others. Cleveland, Indiana, and Illinois are 3 states at the bottom of this list also. I want to pressure the VA to stop "low balling" and start treating Veterans right by putting the worst offenders on this nasty list. A "good list" may also be in order, with the top "Veteran friendly" RO's. Thanks for your input and helping other Veterans to get benefits they deserve.

:D i am to glad to see that the phila varo did not make this list and i hope that it doesn't. if someone makes a list of the best varo's i'll add phila to it in a second. they have handled my claims quickly and now are handling my friend's quickly. i sent a claim into phila for him on 2/14 and already we got 2 letters and a large packet of records from them. how's that for fast. B)

steve&pat, same signature? saves stationary.No? Once saw claim letter posted on Hadit had deja vu, signature, same as a old claim of mine. The old standby, promote up or out. So I know where they were, are now & I am so not there.

Have to agree they are fast on the claims. Had a request for more records a month after my C&P and a week later in came my decsion on the claim of no increase in benefits. Although I requested a copy of my claims file 63 days ago, I emailed them and got back the replly it takes 30 days to get the request into the system.

Have you noticed the family ties in some VARO's? Husband, wife, sister, brother-in-law, cousins, son, daughter...why aren't these jobs posted to allow vets to apply for them? Most of these people do not have any type of formal education but the biggest kicker is they can't read or write sentence structure either. And they get promoted to jobs where they make the decisions on our claims...oh yes and don't forget the bonuses they get for deny's too!

The biggest problem here is where are the vets? The ratio of vets to civilian family ties is pitiful. There was a wife who got a job at the local VARO after her husband got one, and now her cousin works there, and one of her daughter's and next year she hopes to have her other daughter there too. What the hello is going on??

Wow. Are you serious? Please take time to read the educational requirements for RVSRs on USA JOBS.

Newsflash! There is no bonus for denials. I don't know where you heard that lie. We don't purposefully deny claims, and we don't delay a claim to wait for someone to die. Who the hell thinks like that?

Ummmmmmm, I can only speak for the office that I work in. As a rater, the majority of us are veterans.

Ummmmm... no it's not called networking -- it's called nepotism.
