Question

Got my diagnosis, Pan Colitis. I have felt trerrible since the end of June. Finally I became so ill I had to do something. I am going to a specialist later this month. My question is I am SC for gastritis. Also I have been on Pain Meds and alot of other drugs since my SC neck surgery. Does anyone know if the medications, stress or causes my entire colon to be covered in ulcers. My meds have been: hydrocodone, ibuprofine, celexa, welburine, muscle relaxers, topimate and numberous other over the last 5 years. Does anyone have any advice of pan colitis. i need all the info I can get to be healthy again. Thanks

"It is cold and we have no blankets.

The little children are freezing to death.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

From my experience it was from diet, nerves and stress. I developed a very bad case of it and it was not good thing. I dealt with on and off for 2-3 years. I had one episode where a doctor gave me a script for some type of special maalox. At that time I was really stressing to the max and needed some relief . So I was drinking the maalox by the cup. Problem was it bound me up so bad I did not do #2, for about three days and when I did it was like giving birth. At least I imagined it was, from what I had been told. Stress, nervousnes, diet, had abig part of it. I have tamed it down, quite a bit. No fun and you really need to keep yourself hydrated. Hope this info is some help.

Actually, they do not know what causes it.

There are more people of Northern European (Ashkenazim) Jewish descent, and other Northern European's (Scandinavian), that suffer from it, than any other groups, which indicates that it is an "inherited" disease at least to some extent.

Albeit that a stressful life-style will "cause" certain diseases, I think that the stress simply causes all these problems to be more pronounced, but is not, in and of itself, the actual "causative factor".

But, everything being said.......they still don't know what causes it.

Now, whether the consumption of certain medical/chemical substances causes Colitis.......it does not.

BUT, the consumption of certain "drugs" (NSAIDS) CAN and most probably WILL over a period of time, cause ulcers and GI "bleeds".

I do have a suggestion. I am sure you think this is crazy, but, here goes anyway.

Wheatgrass. Yes, grass. (no..not marijiuana..) I grow it. There is at least one book on it, and my wife got it for me for Christmas, along with wheat berries (seeds), a growing tray, potting soil and azomite (recommended highly).

The book tells how to grow it, etc. You can "juice" it, put it in salads, or, I eat it raw.

Here is the scoop. It is very healing, and helps with many things. When grown with the Azomite (minerals) it is one of the most complete nutritionally known to man. Not only does it have digestive enzymes, vitamins, and minerals, but these are from living grass, so they are much better than pills..and balanced.

Try here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheatgrass

and my kit came from here. Its not that expensive, I dont even hardly ever use my juicer, I consume the grass raw. Have you ever seen a sick cow?

"Have you ever seen a sick cow?"

Well, yeah, I have. At Texas A&M they even have a special course of subjects covering sick cows and a special degree plan......called D.V.M.

sorry, I'm just practicing on my assholiness degree (not offered at Texas A&M).
