Question

How does this add up to you guys...?

50% PTSD

30% Headaches

10% TBI

10% TMJ

Is it just me or did my math skills go out along with my mind... I just received my rating for PTSD and TBI today, but I am real confused on how they rated this along with my old stuff. I was 30% before the top three ratings and now I am 80...? I thank god everyday and HADIT for what I have I am grateful trust me. But I am just confused and would like to understand this better plz and thank you.

GOD BLESS all HADIT members for there help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <_<

yes, its 80%, use Hadit VA rating calculator " sorry, ain't grammar school math..

Do you have Dependents? You now get paid for them. Get those birth and wedding certificates in ASAP.

Do you go to the VA for healthcare? You now have no more copays.

Do you live in a state that offers tax discounts for disabled veterans? check that out.

Are you on SSDI? Go for it if not. There is extra pay for dependents.

Are you retired military? You are probably eligible for CRDP or CRSC if so.

Yipee, take care and God Bless,

Cg'up2009!

1. Yes I am married with one child but I was already getting that for them

2. Yes I go to VA for healthcare but they never charge me...?

3. I think they give you a break on home taxes thanks for reminding me

4. I dont think I qualify for SSDI as I have a full time job. Or do I...?

5. No I am not retired

Thanks cowgirl!!!! I am interested in this SSDI, do you get that if youre working, or only if you can no longer work?

Also they said that this is not permanent and that in the future I would be examined to see if I have improved, whats up with that?

And do I get to enter the Commisary now? Do I get to enter the bases?

3. I think they give you a break on home taxes thanks for reminding me most states require the IU or 100% rating for this benefit4. I dont think I qualify for SSDI as I have a full time job. Or do I...? NO you can't get SSD if still working

5. No I am not retired

Also they said that this is not permanent and that in the future I would be examined to see if I have improved, whats up with that? Until you get 100% or IU P&T they are suppsoed to review your disabilities every few yearsAnd do I get to enter the Commisary now? Do I get to enter the bases? Again not until you reach the 100% or IU level the VA loves to pit veterans against veterans

hope this answers your questions given you medical problems I would consider filing for IU and SSD but you usualy have to be unemployed to do this VA awards from date of compensation claim SSD has a 5 month wait period before benefits take effect I left work in June 2002 my SSD dare became effective Dec 2002

Hope this helps

You meet the minimum qualification for unemployable ( 70% combined) but because you work it is very unlikely the va would grant you unemployability. In my opinion you would be wasting your time filing for it. But what I think really doesn't matter , you have to make the decision that is right right for you. As to SSDI, you must prove that you are totally incapable of working and you must be unemployed.
