billy2
I want to get an independant opinion on PN. I had a C&P by a nurse at the VA. I received a letter saying that I may submit evidence showing that my PN has increased in severity. What kind of doctor do I see? Bill
HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted October 16, 2009 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 16, 2009 See a neurologist in my opinion. They will give you a decent EMG and prescribe the most current(and expensive) drugs for neuropathic pain. PN is a disease of the nerves, so who better than a neurologist? Bill I agree with John, the neurologist is an expert in the field of nerve conditions. Make sure they state mild, moderate, or severe because that is what the RO will look for in making their decision Good luck, Bergie As a combat veteran, or any veteran for that matter!!! If you thought the fighting was over when you came home, got out, or when the politicians said it was over. Welcome to the real fight, welcome to VA claims!!! Notorious Kelly
When none of the pain meds worked, my doctor referred me to a neurologist who requested the EMG and got the proper diagnosis. My neurologist also wrote me a wonderful nexus letter. So another vote for neurologist.
