Question

If vet was receiving Voc/Rehab changed to IL during the process, however had 15 extractions while first under Voc/Rehab...and had general surgery for these extractions, and was unable to proceed further for 3-4 mths related to healing.

would they be able to receive temp 100% for this? Also if you can they back date to the original date of surg?

The regs regarding Temp Convalescence are in 38CFR 4.29 and 4.30.

It also helps to pop Temporary convalescence into the BVA decision browser and get their most recent ways of determining these claims in the decision.

I dont know if dental work is covered by the regs.

There might be a time limit for claiming this-not sure- but the regs would have that info.

These claims need medical evidence of the convalescence requirements.

It took almost 2 yrs to finish. Got new crowns (6) and upper partial and just got lower partial this last week. Bone density too loss to enable implants...saved as many as he could as cannot tolerate anything on roof of mouth and severe gag reflex on palate.

The major hold up was sending impressions back and forth to Dallas...Pretty sad when had thousands of dollars spent on crowns and onlays and bone loss made them wobbly and fall out. Did have to wait for 3- mths prior to impressions as healing was not progressing too, first. Thats why I wondered if anyone had experience with dental surgery and convalescent time periods. Thanks.

Am thankful for what I got though.
