Once Again....

NavyVietNamVet

Question

I'm a 56 year old Navy Viet Nam vet. I've been in the VA system and on benefits for close to 20 years. I've got PTSD and generalized anxiety disorder in addition to a bad lower right back/hip and severe dental issues tangled up with the severe stress.

I'm posting AGAIN, seeing if this one shows up or goes off the fantail like all my other posts.

Yes- your post made it here-

If you have dental problems involving bruxism or TMJ , a doctor could associate that in many cases to the PTSD.

Any type of anxiety disorder lke PTSD can cause jaw clenching and grinding of teeth.

My husband had severe night traumas from PTSD and he would grind his teeth while sleeping.

It this can be linked with a medical opinion and there is a ratable level of damage to the teeth, the dental problems (if these are what you mean) can be service connected.

Have you mentioned these dental issues to your shrink?

.........and, another question comes to mind:

If you've been in the system for 20 + years, let me ask you this. Have you had an increase in any of your service-connected symptoms since you were last rated for them? Has any OTHER disability reared it's ugly head, since last you filed a claim and were granted (like, if you have a service-connected left leg disability and now your hips or your right leg/ankle/foot is giving you problems). And, have you noticed any bad side-effects from any of your service-connected medications?

.........well, I guess that that is several questions, but.....................
