Ratings Board

Question

I just spoke with the VA and was told my appeal was sent to the ratings board but was returned back to open status due to the need of more infomation. When They say it is being sent to the ratings board does that mean a decision has been made and the rating board will assign a percentage or does it mean the ratings board has to make a decision of denial or approval?

Thanks,

I really don't think anyone knows for sure and sometimes just may be a dodge to get you off the phone

I think in your case that your claim went to the rating board to make a decision (approval or denial) but when the rater reviewed it, the rater saw something that was not addressed and decided to return your claim for more evidence, could be C & P exam (s) or request something from you or something else. Bottom line is can't really tell if this is a good thing or bad thing but at least they are asking for more information and hopefully it will work in your favor. Also now you will have a little more waiting time for you and your decision.
