Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Vync Posted April 23, 2010 Content Curator/HadIt.com Elder Share Posted April 23, 2010 - Acute: Symptoms > 1 month, < 3 months - Chronic: Symptoms ≥ 3 months - Delayed Onset: Onset ≥ 6 months Due to 'chronic' appearing twice, was your GAF was below 50 or possibly below 40? HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted April 23, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted April 23, 2010 In this case I think that the Doc is saying that your PTSD and Depression are not predictable could get worse or better. It also may have something to do with Meds you are taking. The best thing to do when you don't understand is to ask the Doc what exactly do they mean. Good Luck Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.
hedgey
Carlie & Pete, Thanks. Yeah, I know, you're right about asking. I always come here first when I'm rattled or riled about something. Then I post my anxiety & frustration for all to see and bear. I think I need to try and relax before posting...! Vync, thanks. My GAF has been below 50 every time it's been done over the past two years, and once was 38. The PTSD et. al. are from way back. The MH providers can help you understand your axis table and GAF ratings.
