Question

Hello. New here trying to get some answers that seem to be confussing, at least to me. I am rated at 70% disababled, 60% for heart and 10% for knee. I had to quit wok because of all the chest pain and knee pain, plus my blood pressyre is going thru the roof. I filled for a increase in benifits for these and some other items that were on the list they sent me. Also applied for unemployability (looks like works not going to let me come back). I retired from the navy in may 1988 and draw retirement pay also. Question is? If they give me 100% disability ( iu or what ever else kind of 100% there is). Do I still draw military retirement pay also? I have read abunch of different storie and items and still do not know. Thanks.

In short, Yes. I am 100% SC and retired, I get both checks in full.

Check out CRSC and CRDP:

http://www.military.com/benefits/military-pay/retired-pay/comparing-crsc-crdp

ans also use our Search feature for CRDP CRSC -there is plenty of past discussion here on these programs.

You can only elect one benefit- the CRSC is Combat Related Special Compensation so it pays to study the criteria for both.

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
