Question

I was pleasantly surprised to receive a letter from the V.A. today. Here is a condensed version of what it says:

"We are conducting a special review of **veteran's name** claim folder in accourdance with NEHMER v. US DEPT OF V.A. which required the payment of retroactive benefits to certain Nehmer class members. The veteran's case was identified as a potential Nehmer class-member case based on the addition of IHD, etc, etc. The Veteran's case qualifies for the special review based on a prior VA benefits claim for disability. However, this disease has not yet been added to VA regulations governing disabilities presumptively associated with herbicide exposure. In order to add this disease, we must follow a series of legal requirements, including publishing a notice in the Federal Register. We have begun this process and will contact you once the regulation becomes final."

I'm beginning to believe this is really going to happen!

We are all very glad that all the widows out there are finally going to get the well deserved benefits from the gov't. Thank you for sharing and standing with your vet!

Thanks for sharing that with us. We have been wondering if they were sending letters out based on the new regulation.

I am writing my memoirs and would love it if you could help a shipmate out and look at it.

I've had a few challenges, perhaps the same as you. I relate them here to demonstrate that we can learn, overcome, and find purpose in life.

The stories can be harrowing to read; they were challenging to live. Remember that each story taught me something I would need once I found my purpose, and my purpose was and is HadIt.com Veterans.
