Question

Quick Question If I already have a Appeal open for depression, would it mess things up if i open a new claim for chronic pain. Or should I wait till the appeal is done? Any help would be appreciated. the appeal has only been in the works for 6 months

Im curious-you have an actual diagnosis of 'chronic pain'? Is it separate from another injury, or do you have a back injury and then 'chronic pain' as 2 separate diagnosis?

Im not questioning you in any way, just trying to get it in my head what types of things can be claimable and how. Im already rated for IVDS, for example.

What do you consider messing things up?? If you mean slow down your appeal from being finished YES.

The VA has told me a few times that they have a very hard time working an appeal and a claim at the same time BUT. If you do not file your claim for the other issue your date will be lost until the appeal is done and that could be months or years! It is a very bad catch 22 for the vet!

Many say file when you get the DX for the condition and I have done that myself when I had an appeal in. They will work the new claim and let the appeal sit until the new claim is done.
