RonP Posted November 21, 2010 Share Posted November 21, 2010 Berta you said Chronic congestive heart failure, or; workload of 3 METs or less results in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or; left ventricular dysfunction with an ejection fraction of less than 30 percent 100 I have all of this + more but in the last VA C&P I was not given the mets, only the EF of 28 The Dr. said she was afraid for me to do any exercise at all. The one giving the C&P. The cardiologist at the VA I normally go to previously rated me at 43 mets, but her conclusion as to my overall heart rating has been prove wrong by the current C&P. What should I figure..... No I do not have a copy of the C&P exam, it was just 1 month ago, and it was a Special MD Cardiologist brought in from outside the VA system for this exam. The have the echo, can they tell mets from that ? Thanks Ron Prince VA will be using 38 CFR$ 4.104 to rate the AO IHD claims. tinkerertn Posted November 21, 2010 Share Posted November 21, 2010 Hello Berta: I would be glad to post the decision I received for this. It is rather long, and I am not close by a scanner, with text ability. I will be back in Jacksonville in a few hours, and will scan my decision determinations into my computer. If you want I will post them. Later Dave May help someone. VA will be using 38 CFR$ 4.104 to rate the AO IHD claims. results in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or; left
ventricular dysfunction with an ejection fraction of 30 to 50 percent 60
Workload of greater than 5 METs but not greater than 7 METs results
in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or; evidence of
cardiac hypertrophy or dilatation on electrocardiogram,
echocardiogram, or X-ray 30
Workload of greater than 7 METs but not greater than 10 METs results
in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or; continuous
medication required 10
7006 Myocardial infarction:
During and for three months following myocardial infarction,
documented by laboratory tests 100
Thereafter:
With history of documented myocardial infarction, resulting in:
Chronic congestive heart failure, or; workload of 3 METs or less
results in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or;
left ventricular dysfunction with an ejection fraction of less
than 30 percent 100
More than one episode of acute congestive heart failure in the past year,
or; workload of greater than 3 METs but not greater than 5 METs
results in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or;
left ventricular dysfunction with an ejection fraction of 30 to
50 percent 60
Workload of greater than 5 METs but not greater than 7 METs results
in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or; evidence of
cardiac hypertrophy or dilatation on electrocardiogram,
echocardiogram, or X-ray 30
Workload of greater than 7 METs but not greater than 10 METs
results in dyspnea, fatigue, angina, dizziness, or syncope, or;
