Champva And State Health Departments

Rate this question

Question

This is another thread from the question about CHAMPVA being secondary to Medicare. I did this so the two would not be co-mingled, as I feel both are separate legitimate questions. My question is: Do State Health Departments accept Champva where you are? Mine does not except in certain "special" (home health, etc.) circumstances. My wife went in for some tests and she was told that they did not accept Champva. The bill is almost paid now (I think we may owe 5 bucks or so). I just thought I would throw the question out there. By the way, I live in a small town,,,though we do have a hospital.

Thanks in advance LL

in some cases even if they do not accept champva, keep the receipts and submit the payment info and claim form to va an they may pay you back directly
