grent
I was rated a while back for cervical and lumbar injury. My question is this can a veteran be rated increased to 100% for either of these issues? Thx grt
HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted May 26, 2011 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted May 26, 2011 Yes, but you must be on frequent bed rest and doctors don't prescribe bed rest of back and neck injuries these days. They want you out of bed even after fusions and major repairs. Mine told me after a cervical fusion to walk as much as possible.

cooter
To answer your question, yes. But in your case it may be a long, hard road. The reason I say that is, I'm taking in consideration your rating is justified by the VA and not being lowballed on your %'s. I'm not trying to discourage you by no means, but there's alot of Vets that started from scratch to reach their goal of 100% years to accomplish. The VA's math on rating us Vets is made up so it would take forever to get the 100%. Check it out, you'll see what I mean. A lot of Vets know this and try to get SC'd by being awarded TDIU (Totally Unemployable), in which their granted the same pay as 100%. In order to do this; 1. You have to be rated at least 60% on ONE disability, or 2. A combination of disabilities that total at least 70%. 3. Have to prove, by a Dr. that your SC disabilities make you Totally Unemployable. I am rated 60% on one disability and so far it's been a hard road for me to get TDIU. Everyone here will tell you, keep pushing ahead and never give up! In the meantime, check what secondary injuries that could raise issues from your back, like your knee's, ankles, neck, pinched nerves, etc. By the way, I would read the codes that you were rated on to see if they coincide with your ratings! You might of been lowballed. Good Luck Grent. Hope this helps.
