ptsd Ptsd Secondary To Tbi

I know you probably should always just submit a claim but I have to ask. If I am currently rated for TBI and a neuro-psych exam states PTSD and depression in the findings, should I file for depression and PTSD also?

Or will it be considered being rated for the same thing or some other form of VA trickery? I know they are 2 different conditions but how does the VA treat it?

File now for the PTSD AND depression. Keep in mind that your date of claim is the date you file. In a TBI claim you have two parts, the neuro-psych, and phys, many of the neuro-psych are also close to PTSD and if your TBI is from an IED you most likely would have PTSD. Something some here need to keep in mind is that one can get a TBI form more than an IED.

Next you will need to look at the other side of the TBI. do you have headaches? this is the first thing I ask a veteran. It is a part of a TBI but rated by it's self as a secondary to.

A tbi claim is a hard claim to do, just like the gulf war illness claim.

The rules on TBI keep changing as the understanding of it improve.
