Does Va Take Dx From Mil. Medical Records?maybe Tmi For Men..

Question

Or do they go by what is done at C&P? I had a pelvic at my C&P, but in order to see my cyctocele the dr. would have had to turn the speculum sideways. (Otherwise it is pushing against the rectal wall, and bladder holding it up) She did not do this. However, I was sent to a specialist at UNC while in the military who did a lot of testing and measuring, and I sent a copy of that report in with copies of other medical records with my claim.

I am just wondering if the VA goes off of diagnosis' given while in service, as they are in your medical records, and treatment of them is in there as well? Thank you!

I did send in recent PCP visits since discharge from the military for conditions that I claimed. (Ongoing treatment for migraines, female issues requiring surgical intervention while I was in the military, and special device now ect.) However, I have little confidence that any of it was looked at after reading experiences of others here. I hope and pray all the evidence is weighed together. I am not working with a VSO or anyone else to help with my claim. It's just me, but now I have you all! :) So glad I stumbled here while Googling all of my issues. :) The PCP I see now is a civilian. (VA here has a 700 person waiting list - all the benefits they claim we have soudn good in theory, but are nearly impossible to grasp) I am not sure of her familiarity with the VA and writing an IMO. Is there some specific type of doctor I should go to for this?

My medical records are THICK from service of visits made for disagnosis' like bursitis, bladder prolapse, cyctocele/rectocele, migraines, tenisynovitis de quiarveins (sp), restless leg syndrome, and so on. I had hoped that would be enough evidence for them. I guess I will not know for some time, but I will start preparing my defense.

I don't want 100%. I can work, and I frankly don't think I deserve 100% because I've seen planes loaded with caskets of vets leaving Kuwait headed for Denver and I know - I am a lucky one. However, I DO want to be rated fairly. Nothing more, nothing less. What is that rating? I don't know. I guess I will know when I get my envelope and if I am offended---they missed the mark.

Hello AF,,,, well it sounds like you do have the right place now and you do not need a VSO but remember the lawyer if this thing gets too complicated and the VA starts handling your claim "heavy handed" especially on the decisions.

Now as far as the 100 percent ratings. I hope you know that there are 2 types of ratings for this . The 100 percent P and T and the 100 percent TDIU.

The first one , the 100 P and T is the addition of service connecting injuries or diseases that will add up to the 100 percent. It really has nothing to do with ability to work . As a matter of fact there are alot of veterans that have a 100 percent P and T that still work.

It is the 100 percent TDIU which is Total Disability Individual Unemployability that is different. This is used when the Veteran cannot work or his injuries and diseases make it to where he cannot work . I would not ever consider working if you have this type of rating.

So I understand your desire to work and that is fine , but please realize that you can still work and be rated at the 100 percent under the P and T rating.

However MOST Veterans that get 100 percent whether either P and T or TDIU are usually too sick to work anyway.

I hope this helps some and there are lots of discussions archived here on this subject for you to research. Should you embark on the claims journey please remember it is will require diligence and patience, and high points and low points but you must .........NEVER GIVE UP. God Bless, C.C.
