Tdiu Deferred?

Rate this question

Question

Does anyone know if having your TDIU claim deferred is bad news? I filed my claim in 10/2010 & received a decision on the increase for my current sc disabilities last week. My rating stayed the same over all, but did have a few that changed, some lowered & one raised. I don't know what to expect since this is the first time having anything deferred. Also, my claim has been assigned to the "Tiger Team" at the Cleveland RO.

Thank you to all who are serving or have served our great country!

A claim can be deferred for many reasons. Usually it is for further development or a C&P exam. Sometimes they need clafification from the doctor. It alos can be because your Duty to Assist has not expired. Make sure you have all of your evidence in prior to the decision.

sharon,

Thanks especially for pointing out the duty to assist has not expired - I never think of that one.

How long is your Duty to Assist letter good for? One year? Thank you for the help! I will have another one prepared to send out just in case it has expired.

Thanks iceturkee, I know every claim is different, but at least this gives a rough time frame. I'm glad they awarded yours! I hope for the same!
