klovisk
Hello, I have come to the end of the line and have to move out of my apartment at the end of the month. I have been paying rent with my credit card, but no more funds available. I have asked so many organizations for help, only to be told no, because I am not yet homeless. Strange, that you have to become homeless to receive help in California. So much for the Homeless Prevention Services. Anyway, does anyone know how I can get some help moving my belongings into a storage facility? I really cannot afford to pay a moving compayn, and I don't have a car to shuttle things back and forth. I have asked the VA, the County I live in, SSVF, HPRP, VASH, Women in Need...the list goes on and on but same old answer, need to be homeless to get aid. Well that will be the case come 1 June. Thank you for any recommendations.
HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted May 17, 2012 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted May 17, 2012 Have you tried DAV, VFW, AL, VVA, etc??? All have emergency funds and some have people who do volunteer work. When I lived in northern Idaho, my VVA chapter frequently helped with emergency funds, firewood, and work parties to help vet families w/home repairs, etc. pr
