HadIt.com Elder Philip Rogers Posted August 21, 2012 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted August 21, 2012 You can file now but remember unemployability is not the same as being unemployed. If you quit I'd be sure that it stated in my letter of resignation that I was leaving due to the medical problems I am having w/my SC conditions/disabilities. jmo pr
warren
i have parkinson's disease and i continued to work as long as i could but i was absent from work quite a bit and it got to the point i couldn't work the hours needed to do my job but i didn't quit my job. the personnel office gave me a letter stating i could no longer work the hours needed to do my job because of my disability and i was laided off from my job. i just received iu. also, i made $23,000 that year. i would advise you not to quit but get a letter from your employer that you are being let go because of your disability. i believe you can file now, since your 80%. but, don't quit without getting a letter similar to mine.
