cssamo
Well, I have learned since I last posted on here, that to get a MEB, you must have a Permanent Profile issued. I know have a Permanant Profile with a few 3's on it. Now, I have asked my Unit Admin to do an LOD from my Medical records from Afghanistan. My unit Nurse is putting all the paperwork together to send off to the HQ's. They need a Commanders Statement (form 7652), Military and Civilian Medical Records, LOD's., 15/20 Yr Retirement Letter. The nurse will get the military health records from a AHLTA database. I don't know what AHLTA means, but it is some sort of military health records database. Then you got to choose which conditions that you want to claim on your LOD's that will make you retire. Anyway, If anyone else is going through this stuff, maybe that little bit of information will help you know what to go through. I will post more about it when I learn. Once my paper work gets to HQ, then I will be set up with an appointment to see the State Doctor. He will get me ready for the MEB.. Also, I would like to know the difference between a PEB and MEB. They say the PEB is faster and easier. That sounds like it would be better to me, but someone also said that it is better to get an MEB, because you get certain rights and benefits. ??? thanks, Tom
Berta
I think that acronym would be this: “The Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) is the electronic medical record (EMR) system used by medical providers of the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) since its initial implementation in January 2004. It is a services-wide medical and dental information management system. (According to the DoD, “AHLTA” is no longer considered an acronym, but is rather the system’s only name.)” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Forces_Health_Longitudinal_Technology_Application I think this guy is right on the difference between PEB and MEB : http://www.pebforum.com/site/threads/peb-or-meb.4316/ This might explain more: http://www.militarydef.com/pages/lawyers-corner/know-about-physical-evaluation-board.php I googled PEB MEB Difference between and some more stuff popped up that could help you.
