Question

Ok I had both the medical and mental exam about a month ago and tonight got a call from MSLA to schedule an appointment for a medical exam next week in Reno. I have a couple of questions on this.

1. Is this normal having seen the VA doctor for the exam now to see another doctor?

2. Might have there been something in a separate report he filed that I cannot see on the healthy vet site?

3. How do they handle the travel pay for this exam, is there a form I need to fill out like social security or?

As far as I know they give check to you once you finish your appointment. I'm not sure on all other fronts except to say something else may have come up and they want a verification. Was that all your exams? is my only question. Good Luck God Bless!

In answer to your question no I also had mental health and that looks good for me. Out here you have them scan your card and sign then they send it direct deposit but this appointment is not at their facility. That is why I was questioning that. The outfit they have me going to is the same one that did my social security exam and I got total disability from SS.

Turns out that it seems like they finally read my VA medical records and noticed in the problem list there is a stroke mentioned. Then I think they had to read deeper and found where my Neuro doctor said the partial paralysis on my left side is from what she terms as a mild stem stroke in 2008. That is also in my records. I did take a copy of that to the contract doctor who did the exam and he got visibly upset and ask why are they fighting this? I could hear everything he was dictating and he rated the effects as severe so maybe this time help is on the way.

I did see that the VA has received the report via the my healthy vet web site but could not see the report itself. Anyone know how to get a hold of it?

You should be able to receive your medical records hard copy in a big envelope that gives all your C&P exams through a request to the VAMC. That's what I did a couple of years ago. There was a particular form to use, but I can't find it right now. Maybe someone else knows?

Just looked at the VAMC where I get care, and they just have a telephone number to call and not a link to the form.
