When To Expect The First Voc Rehab Payment?

Hubby was approved for Voc Rehab started classes 8/21/2013. When should he get his first stipend payment? I asked someone else and they said that he has to be enrolled for 30 days before payments start but they were not sure. I could not confirm this anywhere else.

VA always pays after the benefit is earned. Compensation is paid the following month, after we've earned it. When you think about it, why would they pay you in advance? He could quit or die, the day after he started.

That is not always true, he was been under VRAP for the last year before switching to Voc Rehab and the VRAP payments started September 1st of last year when the semester started there third week of August. That September 1st payment was prorated.

So the the October 1st payment include September and the prorated August days?

Okay. Maybe I asked the wrong question. Not sure what "no comment" means.

I was not asking about being paid in advance I was asking when would the payments start? Here is what happened... For the particial month in August, he was paid in September. Just like the VRAP payments.
