  1. You can always do an installment agreement. http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Payment-Plans,-Installment-Agreements
  2. I am a CPA. Cancelled debt is the same as somebody giving you $32,000 cash (income) and you turning around to pay your school debt. I suggest we be smart and proactive with the use of your retro pay. Instead of just spending it all, think about putting it somewhere to get a tax deduction to counter the affect of the cancelled loan debt. For example, contribute to an IRA or make a charitable contribution etc. Contact your tax professional for a solution that fits your individual set of circumstances.
  3. Congrats on your increase! I am happy for you!
  4. Congrats! Haters are sometimes a indication of how blessed you are. Just realize that everyone is not for you and thats okay. You got the victory without them. Don't internalize their actions and words. Just celebrate how far you have come and enjoy your blessing.
  5. Okay. Maybe I asked the wrong question. Not sure what "no comment" means. I was not asking about being paid in advance I was asking when would the payments start? Here is what happened... For the particial month in August, he was paid in September. Just like the VRAP payments.
  6. That is not always true, he was been under VRAP for the last year before switching to Voc Rehab and the VRAP payments started September 1st of last year when the semester started there third week of August. That September 1st payment was prorated. So the the October 1st payment include September and the prorated August days?
  7. Hubby was approved for Voc Rehab started classes 8/21/2013. When should he get his first stipend payment? I asked someone else and they said that he has to be enrolled for 30 days before payments start but they were not sure. I could not confirm this anywhere else.
  8. Congrats! Wonderful news!
  9. Hubby has made the transition to VRAP to Voc Rehab! He was approved today for Voc Rehab thru 2016! I mentioned before how supportive his counselor is. I am so proud to note that hubby completed 45 credits within the last 12 months while under VRAP! And he has now transfered to a 4 year university and will be majoring in Occupational Safety with a minor in Fire Prevention! Classes start August 20th!
  10. Congrats and thank you for your service.
  11. Hi is there a sample for requesting the C-File? I want to make sure I have the correct wording. With the new electronic system is there a way to submit a request online?
  12. Great and encouraging news! Congrats...
  13. Congrats on your win. You have been a great example of staying the course. Thank you for your service.
  14. Congrats! Zero to 60% is awesome! Keep up the good work! And thanks for your honorable service...
