I Need A Va Caregiver Timeline

My wife applied for the VA caregiver program. I would like to know approximately how long the process takes. She has job offers and we NEED the extra income. So if anybody can share their timeline and experience t would be appreciated. Thanks!

No timelines that I know of.

Do you get any SMC/S or other SMC ?

Have you applied for SSA benefits ?

Your wife applied for the VA care giver program because you need assistance in your daily living. The VA will pay her to take care of you. If she works elsewhere. I can tell you for a fact, that she can not work and receive funds from the VA caregiver program. I have had 3 veterans in my office because their spouse was receiving this benefit and went to work. The VA found out and stopped the VA caregiver benefit.

Normally these claims are taking around 90 days.

If you are a combat wounded and medically retired veteran, google USA Cares. This organization is a phenomenal organization that assists veterans until they get on their feet.

Carlie, I know what the info states on those sites, but like most anything else with VA, this isn't accurate.

I've assisted many in this process and here in KY, it's taking up to 90 days.

Most people would be thrilled with anything to do with VA only taking 90 days.

We were told about the training but no she has not taken the training. My social worker recommended this to us. We sent the application around three weeks ago. Im going to visit the web site right now.
