Slowlane
Been using Open Office for years. It's free, updates itself free, will open and edit any Microsoft application. free_spirit_etc
I am glad you like it. My students told me about it when I was using a really outdated version of Microsoft and couldn't open their documents. Think Outside the Box!
Berta
I Love OpenOffice but was used to the PowerPoint in MS Word or whatever that was called, however in your OpenOffice popdown menu you should find OpenOffice Impress and this is as good as Powerpoint was. We needed Powerpoint for a few assignments when I was in military school on line.I was intimidated by it, thinking I was only student who never used it before. Then we had a class discussion on line and mostly all other students (all enlisted and officers...I was a civilian, ) were asking the prof if they had to use Powerpoint ,because they never had used it before. They hoped we could just insert pictures into a regular document. But The Prof insisted on Powerpoint and I must admit, it was a lot of fun to use, once you got used to the format. I imagine Impress is used these days by anyone making a slide presentation. GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !
