daklander
I have an old iMac G4 that will not boot. It will get to a black screen or, sometimes a white screen and go no farther. I have been able to reset nvram/pram with no apparent results. Anyone with the next move?
Navy04
Dak, You or someone else is going to have to clean computer and reload all programs and start from scratch. This happened to me a while back with a nice Dell I had purchased from the BX. I was told it was because of the software going hay wire. So, I sweeped the computer and reloaded all new programs from scratch. I gave the Computer to my lil sister, and now it works fine. Good luck and I hope you can get it fixed

justrluk
Do you have another Mac? If so, try booting in target disk mode, then run disk utilities and clean up permissions. If not, boot from OSX disk and clean up permissions.

Navy04
My good friend will only buy Mac products, yet he is always complaining that they are too hard to work on and fix complicated issues.
