Question

Just got my decision letter and copy of c&p exam. I thought my exam went really bad but I guess not too bad. Approved one for 30 percent. The other claim was denied at zero.... exam stated as least likely than not that it occurred in service but no diagnosis code entered so no rate given because no.residuals shown. I see where examiner enetered all these measurements and repetitive.test results, but no test was done except his eyes looking at my ankle and knee. Just one leg only. So.my question is what do I do next. Thanks for any replies.

Congrats on the 30% and as far as the 0% that is good too. You need to start getting treatment at VA for both conditions. Once you have been document by the VA for treatment for atleast a few months, then go and submit an FDC claim for the 0% Condition to be increased. No big deal, I was medically retired last year with a handful of 0%s, and one was increased to 40% and another to 10% only 6 months later. Good luck and keep us posted

At 30% you are entitled to additional compensation for dependents and you are also entitled to travel pay for travel to VA medical appointments as of the effective date of your claim.

0% is not a "denial." You were granted service connection, but the condition was deemed not serious enough to rate the minimum compensable percentage, however, you got your foot in the door. You no longer need to prove service connection, but you do need to pursue a hire rating if the evidence calls for it. Now, you can file an NOD if the evidence disputes the rating you received.

Thanks for all the replies back. That helps me a lot but please tell me this: For the 30% granted on migraines, I told the examiner that I was having these 1-2 a week, he put once a month on exam. Ironically last week before I got my c & p exam results & decision in the mail, I had gone to private doctor to change medicine because of the frequency of the migraines that were happening. So do I get something for private doctor or just go to VA and wait a couple of months.
