vaf
Asthma isn't listed as one of the diseases named in 38 CFR, Subsection 3.309(a) considered as "chronic" under the presumptive rule (a disease that manifests itself to a degree of 10 percent or more within one year of the date of separation from service). That having been said, if the veteran was treated for any asthma-related or asthma-like symptoms while he was active duty, is there proof of this in his service medical records? If so, he should still file, even if outside of the presumptive rule.
