Edex For Ed

I received radiation treatments for prostate cancer recently. My PSA has dropped almost in half and continues to drop. I am finally feeling better but I am left with an ED problem. I have tried all the pills for ED and Viagra sorta works the best. A friend uses Edex injections and tells me they really work very well but it is expensive. Does the VA prescribe Edex injections? Any help would be appreciated.

Call your VA pharmacy and ask them if it is in their formulary or if it requires a specialist.

VA used to cover injections but I'm not sure if they still do. You should be able to check the VA's formulary, online. I used to but don't currently have the link. I believe the VA does do erectile implants, if you're interested. I don't know that I'd personally trust them for something like that, these days, tho.

They do prescribe Edex but it's only a couple of vials a month - maximum.  My first prescription order was 6 vials, each intended for single use.  When I tried to reorder through the VA they said I had to wait 2 more months before they can be shipped, so you get 2 shots a month.  I was sure the doctor stated I would get 4 but they are now saying just 2.
