Question

I`m hoping to get 100% with my NOD filed recently. Can any of you tell me about certain benefits?

(1) If you get Champva for your child how much of college is covered and can they go to any school?

(2) As for health insurance, can you or your family go to any doctor and how much is co pay?

(3) Are all prescriptions covered and how much is co pay and do you have to go to VAMC to get them?

(4) At the 50% I am at now can I get any eyeglass coverage or any of the above coverages concerning medical?

THANKS MUCH GUYS & GALS......

Cavman, on number 1, permanent and total is the key for chapter 35 benefits.

Berta gave a real good answer for she has personal knowledge.

#2: for Champ VA, th ehealth care is usually at a VA facility

#3 Prescriptions are covered.

#4 you are at 50 percent means you dont pay co pays om meds and are probally in priority group 1.

Eyeglasses are covered at 10 percent service connection, same for hearing aides.

TO walk in to a VA means you need to go and talk to the clerks at the area that does means testing and let the clerk interview you. It wont take too long. The CLerk will look you up in the computer and issue you an ID card and assign you to a Primary Care Provider. They will make an appointment with the provider usually within a reasonable amount of time. The Primary care provider must assist in all specialist appointments and they are kept int he loop Via Email and actually have to sign off on the report.

Also at 100 percent P and T, I think Dental is proivided. If you have 100% and not IU, you can still work if you want to unless you draw SSDi. If not file ASAP if you have enough time paid in.
