Wacotx Ro Backlogs

Just heard on the news that the Waco Tx RO is making headway in the Claims Backlogs but won't be caught up by the end of the year.

so does this mean if veteran files a claim now they won't get to it until 2016?

I never understood why we need to send our claims to the 2 different locations claims mail centers /Wisconsin / Georgia Depending oh where you live East or West.

When its the RO that decides the claim.

Buck,

The two centers simply scan the paper documents into the new, electronic C-file system. Even if the local RO receives documents from us directly, they in turn, are sent out to one of the two centers. However, I have no idea what they do with x-ray, ct scans, and etc images.

As to when your RO will complete your claims, is anybody's guess. I use the Little Rock RO, who is both backed up & screwed up just like all of the other ones. It just took them 1 year to complete my NOD, and that was after 8 years of an appeal & several REMANDS [requesting that the Little Rock RO provide further explanations and NOT SUBJECTIVE C&Ps]. Anyway, last year, I filed for my ED [sMC-K] and it took them about 4 months. This past May 2015, I filed a Renal (Kidney) Dysfunction claim, secondary to my Diabetes. I just checked eBenefits today and my claim has already been approved [80%], as well as awarding me SMC-S, in less then 90 days. I even had a C&P during the 90 days. Totally unbelievable.

Meanwhile, in May 2015 I also filed an appeal on two items from their NOD, with a request for a face-to-face conference with the DRO. Have not heard anything from the RO yet!

So, for me, the above simply proves that the VA can turn-around our claims in a timely manner, if they want to....

Life is GOOD!!!! Could be better if VA did what it is paid to do.

100% - P&T - Heart [iCD] *

80% - Renal Dysfunction**

40% - Type 1 Diabetic [Not AO related]

10% - GERDS

0% - Gallbladder Removal [Currently under appeal]

0% - SCARS

0% - Hypertension [downgraded with 100% Heart]

SMC(K-1) - ED

SMC(S-1) - * & **

Buck,

eBenefits is a wealth of information, once you figure it out. I still have not figured it all out. I have learned where things are by playing around in it. I don't think we can mess anything up in, because I think most of the information is read only. So, when the grand kidos are not around, you should just go & play with it. Once you have figured it, just remember that VA will change it!

Have fun.........

My experience with cleveland when I filed in Dec 2014 with paper copies is that they stamped and gave me a copy and the nice lady there stated it would go upstairs to be scanned by a contractor. Showed up about a week later on ebenefits.

Buck, I like the "upload documents" feature. It's handy to get paperwork to the VA quickly, although I'm still paranoid and send it certified mail just in case. But at least I feel that the VA is getting it a couple or three days ahead of the mail room at the Houston VARO, where many envelopes go in, and some are never seen again.

I really wish they had a realtime C-File component to eBenefits though, so that a veteran could actually review his/her C-File whenever they wanted with no wait or drive, and could see what is really there and what isn't.

Have a great weekend!

Well so for I think e-benefits suck...jmo

But I can see how it would speed up things and more convenient to documents, Information ect,,ect,,

I just need to play around with it, Hell I just now figured out how to hit the blue button to see my progress notes from the VAMC, that helps me a lot because I keep up with what them Doc say about me.

question do you have to download them every time you want to look at them? if you download, and read the notes how do you save them? and make copies? and be able to re-read them later?

I have a couple tutorial's to watch and hope I understand it all.

Thanks
