0 bluevet
What is the correct form to "reopen" a claim with new & material evidence? All responses welcomed..........All you need to do is file the same way that you file any claim and submit the new & material evidence with the filing. The VA will automatically re-open the previous claim as long as the new evidence qualifies.
0 Fat
Thanks bluevet, but that doesn't answer the question.I need to know the correct form.My VSO says Form 526B is invalid and use Form 526EZ.I thought 21- 526EZ was for "quickie" claims. Is there a number where someone knows the right answer? If you do not want your claim expedited, then you can use either form. Edited August 20, 2015 by bluevet
0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted August 20, 2015 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted August 20, 2015 Fat,I don't think it matter what form you file to reopen a claim in the old days to reopen a claim you could file any form for service connection after a finally deniedhttp://www.index.va.gov/search/va/va_search.jsp?NQ=URL%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fbenefits.va.gov%2FCOMPENSATION%2Fdbq_ListByDBQFormName.asp&QT=REOPEN+CLAIM+FORM&submit.x=17&submit.y=
0 Fat
I appreciate the responses.I'm going to use the Form 21-526b.I think the VSO is totally wrong. You can use the 526EZ; however the 21-526b is simple and straight to the point.I'm service connected for Rhinitis at 0%.I just want to reopen the claim for a evaluation for a higher rating (10%).
