Drs Exam.

Question

Hello All,  after receiving 70% disability earlier this year I thought I was pretty much over the process with the exception of me offering new evidence or appealing my claim. When I got my explanation of what benefits I was awarded it showed the percentages of each disability. The ones not awarded  offered up an explanation of why they didn't award for that particular claim. Now I'm being called in for an examination for my knees and back and told not to bring any medical records as this exam will be based on the Drs opinion. I'm not sure what I'm asking here but has anyone had this same experience.

Bringing information cant hurt.

Be your biggest advocate and if the physician is diligent he will look at the information.

Did your combat MOS cause the back/knee problems?

Maybe you were in some recent OIG RO review ...where the IG goes into ROs and checks less then 100 claims for errors and maybe they found an error in the decision, that could have a potential positive result for you.....

Maybe you claimed them but never got a C & P exam specifically for them?

To me m,like others above ,this is a good thing....

Folks:

With my own experience lately with a Cardiology Cp exam, it seems to be hit or miss if the CP Examiner is going to use the information that is either in your file or new information that you are providing at that moment? In my case, I was low balled on a condition when I had clearly met the conditions for the higher rating contained within my service medical records? I'm doing a NOD now and will get IMEs done, but the failure of the examiner to review "all" of the available records creates a hassle for me an extra expense to get the correct outcome. As medical professionals, you would think that they would be more thorough with their review of the records. So, next week,  I'm going to see a Cardiologist to get this done right. But again, I'm sad to say, a lot of this is hit and miss so thank god for the appeals processes...rootbeer22
