TBI vets- new info from OIG and Ben Krause

Rate this question

Question

Yesterday I got the latest VA OIG report on TBI

but didn’t have time to even read it.

Of course Ben Krause did!

https://www.va.gov/oig/pubs/VAOIG-15-01580-108.pdf

I hope every TBI vet reads this information carefully----Ben Krause has been on them about this for years----he states:

"Use The IG Report As Evidence

But, based on what I read here, I suggest all veterans fighting for a fair rating to submit this report as evidence against the presumption of regularity that your exam was conducted by a clinician who was not adequately trained."

I dont get it- this TBI situation was supposed to have been resolved, after the big TBI scandal.

Seems like whatever the VA can screw up, they will.

@Berta I know...I feel the same way!  To add, I am right in the middle of a decision for this very thing!

I had a Neurologist through a recent C&P recommend me for "Service Connection" for TBI based on the C&P, my records, and her evaluation.  Oh but then...I got scheduled for ANOTHER C&P for my PTSD, which was to determine which one is greater!!??

I may be new on here, and I may not be the most intelligent person; however, last I checked, a TBI was an injury while PTSD was a mental issue.  My question then is: WHY DOES THE VA NOT PROVIDE TREATMENT/DISABILITY FOR BOTH???

I was told it is because they cannot 'differentiate' between the two.  Still, this perturbs me so...

Meanwhile - I will sit and wait and see what the decision finally is...
