IU 100% P&T and Poverty Threshold and Dependents

Question

Hi All,

I'm currently 70% SC'd and on 100% IU P&T. I've read that you can earn up to the poverty level as that would be considered "marginal employment."

My question is: Does the VA look at the poverty level for a single person or a family as it pertains to earnings for the year? I'm married with children.

I cannot get a clear answer, even with hours of research.

Thank you!

Even tho I think "poverty level" is based upon family size, its not a great idea to visit the "Twilight Zone" except in the evenings after 11:30 pm.  That is, dont take chances, VA is always looking for an excuse to reduce you, so dont take chances and give them one.

Sure, its okay to get paid for cutting your neighbors grass, but dont push the envelope if you know what I mean.  You dont want any red flags that shout, "Consider this Vet for a reduction".
