Question

I am 100% TDUI P & T will the Housing Allowance help pay my mortgage

Housing Allowance

Veterans with 100-percent disability are provided a housing allowance, which can be used for rent or the payment of a mortgage. If the veteran does not own a home, the federal government will provide to the veteran with a grant that pays up to 50 percent of the home's value, not exceeding $46,000. A 100-percent disabled veteran is also eligible for home modifications if she owns a home. This money can be used to renovate a veteran's home to make it more user-friendly for the disabled veteran.

what does this mean?

 I wish ... it would...be nice

But I think what you mean is the exemption for your property tax for 100% S.C. Veterans

Most states the Veteran gets full property tax exemption with the homestead act

You need to check with your local county appraiser office and take your  TDIU P&T AWARD Letter to them or print off your current rating status from e benefits  and take that letter.

You should get a reduction in your mortgage payments from the exemption off your property tax in your county ( you still need to pay the  homeowners Insurance)  if your taxes is 600. montly and figured in with your house mortgage  then  take away the 600.bucks , but be sure to add your Home owners Insurance to your mortgage payments.  unless you pay that seperate.

This is a sweet benefit and helps us with lower mortgage payments.

I am not an Attorney or VSO, any advice I provide is not to be construed as legal advice, therefore not to be held out for liable BUCK!!!
