ChampVA need another Secondary insurance

mcsanty

Question

 Hello veterans

I’m 100% disabled  I am 46  years old  I have champva for my spouse and child as a secondary insurance, I’ve been working full-time for many years .So I have a primary insurance through my company that I pay out-of-pocket  ,that covers my spouse and child .

I decided that September First ,I’m gonna start working part time instead of full-time.The downside is that I will lose my  primary medical insurance ,   In many places  they do not take champva , I need advice on where can I buy  medical  insurance that is not gonna Be super expensive for somebody that works part time.

 Thank you

Forget it.  You can not buy better health insurance than Champva.  I think the deductable is 50 dollars per year.  Do  you want to buy insurance so that you dont have to pay that 50 dollars?  How much do you think that will cost you.

Many companies do not know about Champva..so they tell you they dont take it.  Its not real common..only about a 250,000 100 percenters out of 300 million americans.  That is less than 1  percent.  Way less.

You just have to persist to find a provider for Champva, call the number and they may help.

I used to be an insurance agent, and we loved people like you who bought several policies to cover one loss.  The trouble is, insurance is designed so you can not make money with it.  Otherwise, people would buy 10 auto insurance policies, crash their car and collect times 10.

USAA - has info on their website - It will be expensive, unless you have a ceiling on your expenses like you pay the first $10,000 or even $5,000... I have used United in the past when I was self employed.
