GONZO
I am helping a buddy with his VA claim and he was asked to provide a copy of his prior year W2. Does anyone know why they are asking for this information?

0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted November 20, 2018 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 20, 2018 He must have a claim in for increase? Depending on what his present rating is.....if he can't work due to his S.C. Disability and is asking for increase this automatically sets the stage for IU. Duty to Assist ...sounds like they are on top of things which is rare. they need the W-2 to see when he last worked. And also applying for IU. They want to see when he last worked or is still working.??
0 GONZO
He has been working since he retired and never filed a claim for service connected disability. So, he came by to me and asked if he could do anything about. So we filed a claim. He is gainfully employed at this time. Just found it strange. 0 HadIt.com Elder Buck52 Posted November 20, 2018 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) Oh okay well you can still help him file his claim just need the 3 things basisly A correct Diagnoses of the Disease or Injury. Records or medical records to show his diseases or injury happen while in the military. Dr's medical reports he examine you and read your medical records to show the severity of the disease or Injury and give his medical opinion as to it is likely as not his disability is related to his military service or 1. An injury, illness, or event acquired while you were serving in the military. 2. A current diagnosis or disability, or recurring or persistent symptoms of a disability. 3. Competent and credible evidence that shows the injury is related to the current diagnosis. Mental Health such as PTSD has to have a diagnoses from a Qualified VA Dr. Lay statement from the Veteran telling what happen and when and the dates occurred. Add your medical evidence (copies) and submit the claim. then just wait and see what they say? remember medical evidence is a veterans best friend when filing VA Claims Edited November 20, 2018 by Buck52
