Does anyone know how to access the Official Military Activities Report (OMAR) database?  I found out about it today, it seems if the VA can access it, so should actual veterans.  It can be helpful not only to file VA claims, but research claims with Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC).  I can'y speak for other branches, but the Air Force won't give credit for CRSC unless you have specific incidents from daily Situation Reports (SITREPS), yet they won't tell you where you can find SITREPs for research.

I agree with you. This would be a great resource for both veterans and historians. However, I can see why it hasn't been made public. Enemies abroad would be able to learn about our sources and methods.

Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) mental health claims can now be verified faster and easier thanks to the Official Military Activities Report (OMAR) , which is a new tool that allows VA employees quick access to significant activity (SIGACT) data used to verify combat and other military participation in what could be considered stressful events. The database currently includes approximately 250,000 significant events in Iraq and around 500,000 events in Afghanistan. so I'am thinking only VA Employees have access and VA VSO and  VA Attorney's & Accredited Certified VA Claims Agents,

same as the VBMS.
