Sleep Apnea DBQ

Question

If claiming sleep apnea secondarily to service connected rhinitis, is it important to include a DBQ?

The doctor has agreed to write a detailed nexus statement supporting the service connected rhinitis to OSA.

A DBQ helps, but it is not necessary if your Dr. Provides a favorable nexus stating "at least as likely as not" (equal to or greater than 50% probability)the condition claimed is due to or the direct result of the veteran's service connected Rhinitis.

A rationale must also be provided.

I put insomnia in for a secondary condition (psoriatic arthritis as primary), pain keeps me awake, I wake up and lay there etc.  I think it will be approved (but I have been waiting since September)

It doesn't hurt to have the DBQ.. but as long as you have an Independent Medical Opinion written to VA standards it isn't necessary....
