Does VA look at Occiptal Neuralgia as a seperate rating or just a headache?

Question

Jut wondering, is occipital neuralgia a separate rating from tension headaches? I am serve connected cervical DDD which cause tension headaches and O/N pain. However I'm not sure if VA looks at the nerve pain in Occipital Neuralgia as just a headache or a separate malady caused by my service connected DDD. Any input would be great, thanks!

Looking at what this issue is it seems to fall right inline with headaches.  Looking at the disability chart 50% is not the highest these can go.  Depending on how severe they are you can get a higher rating.  You will probably have to appeal but I can be done.

I am sure there are others here who can help with this as their could be something else.

I know that’s 50% isn’t perfect I was given 0% for 8 years before they finally have me 50% separated from my TBI residuals. Has it always been 50 or was it 0 to start then increased to 50%?
