paid student loan

Rate this question

Mr. Hopeful

Question

Good day,

Please forgive the more than obvious possible answer to my question, but I have to put a close to this so here goes...

I paid my student loans in 2017, 1.5 years prior to retiring and receiving 100% T&P disability rating from the VA.  Is there a way for the VA to compensate what I paid as they would have paid my loans if they still existed?  Please advise.

Mr. Hopeful.

VA wouldn't have paid them. They would have been forgiven by your lender. You just have nothing left to forgive. The lenders sure aren't going to retro actively give it back.
