Going To My C&p

Well, I guess Wednesday I'll manage to get down to VAMC Dallas for my C&P on my hip and knee.

I just wish that I could get some real HELP with my hip and knee and ankle.

My hip is getting so bad (painful) that I can't sit without pain. Used to be, when my ankle hurt so bad that I couldn't stand on it, I could sit down and get a little relief..........now, I'm just changing locations of the pain, from my ankle to my butt.

Oh well, what the heck.

Wish me luck, that I might at least have a decent examiner.

My wife is going with me and that is a great relief. She's a really good R.N. and I intend to take her into the exam rooms with me, if for not other reason so that she can translate and remember what was said.

(my pain in my butt has caused a numbness in my brain, LOL......!)

"It is cold and we have no blankets.

The little children are freezing to death.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad.

From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

Chief Joseph

Larry:

Good Luck and the C&P is over by the Texas Veterans and DAV Offices in the old part of the Hospital that was remodeled to look like the new one. If you don't get their early they do have valet parking.

I wish you luck on the C&P and getting some help on your pain.

Pete

PS I am having my C&P there on Feb 19th with Dr Parness.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

Good luck with the claim and getting treatment with your medical issues. Knock them dead! Oops I did not really mean that the way it sounded. Please forgive me Mr. VA guys.

Larry,

If there is time, try to mention to the C&P examiner things that your conditions from service prevent you from doing. Example - can only sit or stand in a certain position for so long, swelling, muscle spasms,

have to stay in bed, if someone has to reach in cabinets for you, etc...

jmho,

carlie

Carlie passed away in November 2015 she is missed.

Larry-I think you will be fine-

I liked what you said- taking the wife to translate-and remember what was said----

I almost always went to VA with Rod-

If I did not understand the doc I would not hesitate to ask them to spell what they were saying-

(some of them didnt speak English too good)

One doc while Rod was hospitalized-I wasnt there this particular day-called me and told me Rod had just had a terrible seizure-but

he pronounced my name wrong-I thought at first it was just his accent-but I asked him whose chart he was reading-

some other vet had just had a terrible seizure. He called the wrong wife.

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.
