When does my 100% IU P&T rating become protected?

Rate this question

Doc Casey 'Gulf War'

Question

I became 100% IU P&T in 2006.  I am 53 years old.

At what point is my rating protected from removal/reduction, and my income limited to making (poverty level $).

I understand that the VA and the IRS work in collaboration to ensure I do not make more than the poverty level, while I’m 100% IU P&T?  For how many years??

Don I believe it also would fall under the 20 year protection rule. But if you are P&T now, the probability for them to call you for an exam is pretty unlikely. Age 55 is also another rule they would have to be going against also in a couple of years. You're ok unless you go after SMC's before 20 years.
