Remisdad
If a veteran is granted loss of use of a hand how do they get SMC K. Will the VA automatically grant it. Also will it show up in VA.gov in the disability ratings?

0 Greeter Dot09 Posted June 14, 2022 Greeter Share Posted June 14, 2022 They should automatically include it. If not you should send in a nod to them. You can also check ebenefits under benefits to see if you have Smc k.
0 Richard1954
It should be awarded at the time of the loss of use is awarded, but watch out , the VA doesn't always do what they should do. I had to file a Cue claim when l was awarded service connection for ED, and they forget to give me the K award. They awared the K award about a month later.
