That won't take effect instantly- whatever deposit you have coming on Thursday will still go to whatever information is there already. You can call 1-888-224-2950 to get information about changing your direct deposit. You can also upload form 1199A, or you can go to https://www.va.gov/change-direct-deposit/ and follow the instructions there. The Earth is degenerating these days.
