samalw Posted February 5, 2009 Share Posted February 5, 2009 For those of you willing to contact our Illinois congressmen to urge them to support HB0273, a bill introduced on 1/21/09 which will abate property tax for disabled veterans based on their percentage of disability, please see the attachment for e-mail addresses and fax numbers of each legislator. Hopefully it is used and abused for all the right reasons. I see that they have set up a Feb 11 Revenue & Finance committee date at 10:00, If you go to committees and click, they have 43 HB's to go over that day, and NONE have the co-sponsors compared to HB0273, Let us keep it going. I am going to see who else co-sponsors before the end of the week before I send round two of my love letter emails..... Round two will consist of those that have not co-sponsored, and said they would on return emails, and past IGA co-sponsors of the same HB in previous legislation. I was just about to post that we had 2 more co-sponsors sign on today for a total of 48 (49 with the original sponsor). The committee members for the Revenue & Finance Committee have not been posted yet so I don't know if the committee has even been formed. I would think it would have been.
